Psyllipsocidae

Overview

Often pale, with long legs and capable of jumping, sometimes with reduced wings. Several representatives are found in caves and in buildings. The widespread Psyllipsocus ramburii is polymorphic, with brachypterous, pale, almost blind forms occurring in houses and caves and winged or brachypterous, pigmented forms with larger eyes in houses and elsewhere. Wing development appears to be affected by population density and temperature conditions.
